As the NBA gave us our first glimpse of sports in quarantine they stumbled out of the blocks.

Round one of the NBA HORSE Challenge Presented by State Farm took place on ESPN this Sunday April 12th. While it may not be the classic game, we’re just so freaking excited to have some sort of basketball back in our lives.

The NBA cast a wide net for their talent, recruiting NBA players Trae Young, Mike Conley, Chris Paul and Zach Levine; retired pros Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce; and WNBA hoopers Allie Quigly and Tamika Catchings.

In the opening round of the challenge, Billups defeated Young, while Quigley defeated Paul, Conley took Catchings, and LaVine came out on top of Pierce

The broadcast did some downsides, mostly in regards to quality and connection. We’re hopeful they league will iron out these issues in the future as we all continue to get used to live content in this time of social distancing.

Round two of the NBA Horse Challenge takes place Thursday, April 16 at 9 pm (ET).

The best part of this event is that State Farm will be donating $200,000 to CoronaVirus relief organizations on behalf of the participants. This will be an addition to the whopping $74 million that has been donated by the NBA Family.
